About Cole

Cole Michael Ludwig was a proud Tiffin native, a 2015 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School, and a respected scholar-athlete whose impact continues to be felt throughout the community. As a member of the Columbian football team, Cole played center and defensive tackle, earning the respect and admiration of his teammates, coaches, teachers, and friends through his work ethic, character, and unwavering loyalty.

Known for his infectious smile and fun-loving personality, Cole brought energy and positivity wherever he went. He valued friendship, family, teamwork, and hard work, and he had a unique ability to make those around him feel welcome and appreciated. Whether on the football field, spending time with friends, or enjoying the outdoors, Cole lived life with enthusiasm and purpose.

After graduating from Columbian, Cole earned his Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and became an owner-operator with Ludwig Trucking. He took great pride in his work and looked forward to the future.

Cole's legacy extends far beyond his accomplishments. He is remembered for his generosity, loyalty, sportsmanship, and the genuine care he showed for others. In recognition of these qualities, Tiffin Columbian Football established the Cole Ludwig Award, presented annually to a student-athlete who exemplifies the same sportsmanship, effort, and loyalty that Cole displayed throughout his life.

Even in passing, Cole's generosity continued to change lives. As an organ donor, he gave the gift of life to others, helping save and enrich the lives of multiple individuals. This final act of selflessness serves as a lasting reflection of the caring and giving person he was.

The Cole Ludwig Memorial Scholarship was created by his family to honor those same values and ensure that Cole's spirit continues to inspire future generations. Through scholarships, community support, and the annual memorial golf outing, his legacy lives on in the lives of the students, families, and community members who benefit from this fund.

Though his life was far too short, Cole's impact remains lasting, and his memory continues to inspire all who knew him.
